What will you be doing on this workshop?
Following a tailor designed workshop, you will be guided through how to:
1: Create your own unique designs using the computer
2: Understand how to amend your design to ensure holes for fixings or chains are placed in the correct positions
3: Learn how use the laser cutter to cut your final design
4: Finish by hand, learning different techniques on how to apply different clasps and fixings to your item
How long is the workshop?
As everyone learns at different speeds, the workshop is always delivered at your pace. At around 4 hours for completion.
The workshop is generally ran 10am – 2pm of given days, with a short break for lunch, but if you want to stay longer or return for future sessions, you are more than welcome to do so!
Who is it aimed at?
Training group sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 participants to make sure everyone gets enough 1-2-1 support from the tutor if they want it. However, on groups larger than 4, the group will be split into smaller groups when covering the operation of the machine itself.
Anyone 16 years and old is able to register onto the course, enrollment sessions will be arranged to complete registration paperwork prior to the course beginning.
Are there any entry requirements?
Participants do not need any previous experience to come onto the course. It is suitable for complete beginners to those looking to further their current skills.
The only thing that is a benefit to participants is that they know how to navigate a computer and use a mouse correctly. This will help with creating your designs and moving around the software using different tools.
If you do not have basic computer skills, you may benefit from our basic IT sessions prior to completing the course.
This workshop looks amazing, I’d love to do it please, if it starts again?
Thanks,
Naomi
