Learning hands on, practical skills that you can use around the home

In this *free Painting and Decorating course, we can help you to develop your practical skills, learning how to correctly prepare a wall for paint or wall paper, prepare a skirting board for gloss and how to “cut in” to get paint into those hard to reach places.

What will you be doing on this course?

Following a tailor designed course, you will be guided through how to:
1: Identify different tools and what their perfect use is.
2: Understand about the need of health and safety in a workshop and the precautions to take to minimise the risk to yourself or others.
3: Prepare a wall correctly ready for either wall paper or painting.
4: Learn which type of paint is best suited for the job you are completing.
5: Learn hints and tricks on how to get that smooth coverage of paint on the wall or to get rid of any unwanted air bubbles from your wallpaper.

How long is the course?

As everyone learns at different speeds, the course is always delivered at your pace, over a minimum of 4 days.
Each day is generally ran 10am – 2pm with a short break for lunch, but if you want to stay longer or come in earlier, you are more than welcome to do so!

Who is it aimed at?

Training group sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 participants to make sure everyone gets enough 1-2-1 support from the tutor if that want it and so everyone has enough space to work safely.
Anyone 16 years and over is able to register onto the course, enrollment sessions will be arranged to complete registration paperwork prior to the course beginning.

What Qualification will I gain from it?
