What will you be doing on this workshop?
Following a tailor designed workshop, you will be guided through how to:
1: Understand how to prepare files for importing onto our laser cutter
2: Learn about the different ways to use the laser cutter, from full cuts to engraving and the different materials suitable for laser cutting
3: Learn how to set the laser cutter up correctly for the material you are using, including changing the z axis (or height) and what speed and power settings are ideal for your job
How long is the workshop?
As everyone learns at different speeds, the workshop is always delivered at your pace. At around 2 hours for completion.
The workshop is generally ran 10am – 12pm of given days, but if you want to stay longer or return for future sessions, you are more than welcome to do so!
Who is it aimed at?
Training group sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 participants to make sure everyone gets enough 1-2-1 support from the tutor if they want it. However, on groups larger than 4, the group will be split into 2 smaller groups when covering the operation of the machine itself.
Anyone 16 years and old is able to register onto the course, enrollment sessions will be arranged to complete registration paperwork prior to the course beginning.
Are there any entry requirements?
Participants do not need any previous experience to come onto the workshop. This level is suitable for complete beginners.
Anyone who is looking to use the laser cutter to work on their own personal projects or more generally looking to build their practical skills would benefit from completing this workshop.
Basic computer skills are a benefit, but not required.
