Create a 3d character/toy that represents you and your passions…
Character Lab is a 6-day workshop broken over 2 weeks that introduces participants to character design, digital sculpting, and 3d printing. We will explore these mediums through a variety of practical exercises and presentations to create a final unique design that will be presented digitally and physically as a 3d printed model they will customize even further with paints. These designs will be inspired by each of the unique participant’s passions and how they explore creating an avatar for themselves.
During Character Lab participants will develop a unique digital avatar that expresses themselves and will be able to create them into real-world art toys. They will expand upon their creative thinking skills and their ability to communicate their designs in 2d and 3d forms. Along with these, they will develop new skills in digital sculpting using free 3d sculpting/modeling tools with Sculptris and Meshmixer.
No previous experience is required. This workshop is aimed at those with an interest in the creative arts and design 3d modelled, game design & toy design. Fablab is a safe and nurturing environment to learn new skills.
