During this session, you will be introduced to simple woodworking crafts, learning how to use different hand tools safely to create a product. We’ll guide you step-by-step through how to use a selection of different hand tools safely and correctly, learning tips and tricks on how to make woodworking projects at home. You’ll then be able to put all your new found skills into practice, creating your own wooden pen holder.

Experience the thrill of gravity racing with our high-performance racers. Build you own gravity racers and compete for victory. Start racing now. Gravity racers is a friendly workshop where children will build their own toy-size wooden car and have fun competing in a series of races down our race track. You will be able to choose from one of our racer kits to build, customising your car to be one-of-a-kind, before sending it flying down our track to see who is the fastest Gravity Racer!

💡Mason Bee House
This course will teach you how to build your own bee home from soft wood. You’ll get to use a pillar drill and learn how to properly cut holes in the wood to provide cosy nesting areas for the bees. Under the supervision of our technical instructor, you will master basic woodworking techniques such as the right use of hammers, nails, clamps, and glue for tight assembly.
What skill will I learn?
– Basic woodworking techniques using soft wood
– Proper use of hand tools, including hammers, pillar drill and clamps
– Assembling and gluing the bee house components
– Adding a hanging bracket for easy installation
– Painting techniques
What will I make to take home with me?
At the end of the course, you’ll have a lovely and practical bee house to add to your garden or outdoor space.

On this Jewellery Making session, you will learn how to create bespoke, laser-cut parts using a computer and laser cutter, before using traditional handcrafting techniques to finish off your brand-new item by hand.

– Create suitable computer graphics for jewellery items
– Use the laser cutter to fabricate a design
– Use traditional hand tools to apply clasps and chains to laser cut items
What will I make to take home with me?
Join us at FabLab for an immersive STEAM Home educators experience. You will be able to design and make either a pair of earrings, pendant or keyring.

Sessions are designed for children, minimum age of attendance is 8years.
What is the price of each session?
Each session is £17.50 per person.

All materials, equipment and technical guidance are included within the price.
