Upon arrival, you will be guided through how to transform your black and white photo into a 3D model, based on contrasts from the original image. Upon arrival you’ll be introduced to how to create your own simple 2D computer aided designs (also known as CAD) suitable for laser cutting, using a fab software that’s free and open source – so you can carry on learning and creating at home afterwards! We’ll guide you step-by-step on how to use the tools in the software to create personalised graphics, teaching you how to turn it into a “vector” suitable for laser cutting. Meaning you not only get to learn CAD skills, but you’ll also be able to learn CAM (computer aided manufacturing) skills watching the laser cutter bring to life your computer designs.
